Tabatha's Books & Study Journals

Tabatha has felt for some time that Bible study and Bible literacy has been wrongfully made to be almost unattainable for the average person - especially those who may not yet know enough about their new faith to feel confident enough to lead themselves on a study.  With that in mind, she believes the Lord has worked through her to make some step-by-step, bite-sized Bible Studies that will whet your appetite for learning more about our God, our faith and His promises.  Get your books and Study Journals by Tabatha Rewis today!

"All through the Bible, we've read that He was the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob...but is He the God of me?" That very weighty question is exactly what I found myself wondering some time back. "Who is God to me?" I knew I had some wrong stereotypes...maybe handed down through well-meaning, even Godly ancestors.

But who is God to me?? To YOU??

This 21-day journal is designed to help you understand who God is a little better. I've laid out some verses for us to study together - digging a little deeper than just the surface. And through this simple step-by-step guide, each day we find new ways of applying what we've learned in our everyday lives.

It seems to be so easy for us to create unhealthy habits - too much caffeine, too many sweets, too little exercise, too much screen time... before we know it all our habits that are filling up our days, wind up crowding out the most important, eternal habit we could ever have. --Communing with God.

It doesn't have to be some mystic, mountain-top experience. For me, its just as simple as learning more about Him - and doing my best to apply what He has taught me to my everyday life.

Join me in developing a NEW habit - daily time with our God - and let's cultivate "theHabit" together!

I’ve come to believe that anxiety is a universal problem for all of us at some level. After a particularly hard time in my life, I set out to intentionally try to have more gratitude to combat the rising anxiety I had been dealing with. And you know what? It worked. Of course, my life didn't become all rainbows and unicorns, but by shifting my focus to the gratitude side of life, my anxieties weren't nearly as ferocious as they had been.

For the next 21 days, we’ll be spending time with God’s word in an effort to create a new habit for us - maybe even to replace a habit you’ve been wanting to overcome, as well!

Why 21 days? Well, for one: that’s how long the experts say it takes to create a new habit. And on a personal note, I wanted to make sure to keep this study to a manageable length of time so ANYONE - no matter how busy, or how “new” they are to Christianity - can finish without pressure. Maybe it’s just me with the time commitment issues, but I’m guessing some of you need shorter goals, too.

I was impressed to put together this “Interrupting Anxiety” edition to not just help us create a new habit, but to also give us more weapons on our arsenal to battle during those times we feel like our anxiety is about to overtake us again.

Think of this as the first step in protecting your peace, instead of giving in to anxiety. Each verse or passage from God’s word, is another stone in your sling, and eventually the giant of anxiety will fall! Each time we feel that anxiety rise, we will have something to refocus on: gratitude for something else the Lord has done - or has been - for us!

In this third installment of theHabit Study Journal series, we will be tackling something most women have struggled with at some point: a healthy mindset. We’ll be dedicating a few minutes each day to create a new habit of going to God’s word to find out who we REALLY are. Since it seems to be so easy for us to create unhealthy habits - too much caffeine, too many sweets, too little exercise, too much screen time... we are being intentional about developing the most important, eternal habit we could ever have --communing with God.

Breaking Perfect, Part 5

These last few weeks, we ’ve been “breaking perfect”. I’ve been pretty honest about how much my striving for perfection has cost me in time, finances and especially my   peace. The validation I felt like I needed from other people, the fear of failure - and sometimes even the fear of success - all worked within me to cause a weird procrastination - some friends and I call it the “paralysis of analysis” - where I overthink and plan so much that what needs to happen just doesn’t get done. It wasn’t until some months ago, when I heard the phrase “Done is better than perfect” that I realized that as long as I’m making progress and getting things done, it’s MUCH, MUCH BETTER than trying to do things “perfectly” and have them wait on the proverbial shelf until I felt ready to make it perfect. It helped me to realize that as long as I’m doing things to the best of my ability, the success or validity or impact it has will be in God’s hands, because He is the only One perfect enough to hand...

Breaking Perfect, Part 4

We are “breaking perfect” together this week. We’ve already tackled making idols of the opinion of others and even started to tackle the fear of failure . Last week, I mentioned learning that fear of failure is not from the Lord - and if we use what He has already given us, we can trust that HE will direct the outcome. There’s a little bit more about this fear that we need to dig into, however. Here’s a bit of hard truth to admit: I was afraid that MY EFFORTS would fail, because they wouldn’t be good enough. I WAS RIGHT. My efforts alone always failed. They were never good enough, and honestly, they never will be. The only way my efforts, “perfect” or not, would be enough would be when they are done in surrender to the Father. My “perfect” efforts would still always fall short. But HE never fails. 2nd Corinthians 12:9-11 (Amplified Bible): 9  but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardles...

Breaking Perfect, Part 3

We are smack in the middle of tearing down the glass walls of perfectionism, first dealing with the realization that perfectionism can be an indication of putting too much emphasis on other people’s opinions of me and what I accomplish - in other words, seeking approval from man more than God. Today, we will be tackling another cause of perfectionism - FEAR. I would be lying if I told you that one of the biggest causes for my perfectionism wasn’t fear. Oh fear was definitely there. You probably are familiar with it, too… the fear of failure. This fear would cause great delay and paralysis with whatever I put my hands to - whether it was attempting a project for work or church, or even trying to build an extra income for my little family. I would look at it every which way, analyzing and projecting and planning… trying this or redefining that. Then, I would FINALLY actually start doing the work. It was slow going sometimes because I had to make sure every.single.aspect. was no les...
