That Ever-Elusive Christmas Spirit

It's that time of year... everything is gearing up and getting busier and more hectic, and our calendars are getting more crowded by the minute! I love Christmas time, though! Even aside from the spiritual emphasis for us - I also love it because I love searching out and finding the PERFECT gift for those I love! Since our extended family is constantly growing, it becomes quite the juggling act of finding the perfect gift for them and finding the perfect price range for me! ;-) Seriously - I counted it up a couple weeks ago, and J and I have 16 neices and nephews to buy for now. We each have only one sister, so my sister and his sister get off pretty lucky, as we only have one man-child that they have to buy for! LOL In all the hustle and bustle of gift-finding and family events and planning, (even though I LOVE the giving part) I tend to get pretty overwhelmed and anxious... I mean, I start out with all good intentions: This year, I'm going to keep it simple. This y...

Mama Bears and Preacher's Kids

Y'all. Band/Football season and moving into/setting up the new place and school activities and hospital visits for friends....it has been non-stop! He's driving us around with his learner's license, has started shaving, and we've been well initiated into the whole boyfriend/girlfriend dramas of the teen years. Up until this year, for the most part, his school friends and interactions have ...

Moving Out!

I cannot believe it's been so long since I updated! It has been a whirlwind of a couple of months - my business is keeping me busy, plus our church has just purchased a home that will be the parsonage, so we have been busy repainting and cleaning and getting things ready ---- all in between dealing with funerals, youth camp, aging parents and more!  May was another record-breaking month for my Maskcara business - and I'm so very thankful! Cara has come up with some awesome limited-edition items and colors just for the summer so if you're wanting to try something new, don't wait! So here's the deal with the parsonage. For those not familiar with church-lingo, a parsonage is the home where the pastor (& his family) live. Some churches don't have a parsonage and might choose instead to give the pastor a housing allowance as part of (or sometimes in place of) their salary package. Each church is different and can afford different things. Our church is p...
